Dr. Akbar A. Dawood
Dr. Dawood obtained his first dental degree (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) from the University of Pune in India. He then went on to study at the University of Pennsylvania to achieve his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. He proceeded to specialize in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in New York where he also served as the Chief Resident.
After completion of his training, Dr. Dawood was in private practice in Connecticut followed by private practice in Oklahoma. He was actively involved in resident teaching at the University of Oklahoma in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Dawood has also had the privilege to serve the Veterans of our armed forces while working at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center.
Besides his experience in the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, his special interests include implant surgery, hard and soft tissue grafting and pathology.
He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Maryland State Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Society as well as a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and a member of the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology.
He spends his leisure time reading and likes table tennis and tennis. He has also volunteered with the Rotary Club and Lions Club.
